Gingko I

"Gingko I" ring is a research on the beauty of gingko leaves and natural patina that can be achieved with bronze. The base for the ring was carved manually from wax and then being cast in bronze. Four gingko leaves cast in bronze too and they are crowning the top in a sequence which creates a motion feeling. Different shades of blue and green patina finalizing the idea of motion by reminding a viewer about waves of an ocean.

The Starry Night

It was not until Ray invented his own“Yin and Yang”,or dark and bright,carving method did the public realize that jade can also be finely sculpted as luxury pieces of jewelry.One day,Ray saw Van Gogh's introduction in a book,he was inspired by Van Gogh's work"The Starry Night",then he was thinking how to take this famous into his jewelry designs.18k gold is too heavy,so he used titanium,although carving jade is easy for him,but the production of titanium is very difficult.This is a challenge.It is also a creation of successful innovation and new combination of jewelry.

Fire & Earth

It is interesting to observe how the same object can inspire different people in different ways. During the creative process every artist brings out part of their story, experience and culture and imprints it into their work. In realising this project, UK-based Italian artisan Roberta Pederzoli creates a collection where Italian culture and Scottish landscape are intertwined. Every piece is carefully crafted with consideration for texture and colour, creating a sensation of fairy-tale elegance and enchantment by delicately brushing colour over the jewellery.

Fusing and Freezing

The porcelain embedding is a traditional craft in China. Ceramic chips are glued together with cement to decorate buildings. This design combines the abstract organic form of cement with the metal casting geometric form, signifying the contrast between tradition and modernity. The copper is processed with the craft of porcelain embedding, presenting a new look of traditional craft with its modern form, material and texture.

A Thousand Masks

This design originates from Yingge dance, one of the non-material cultural heritages in Chaoshan region, Guangdong Province, China. It uses the line of Yingge facial makeup as a basic form. And the 2D shape is processed into a 3D modelling. A contrast of density and spacing enriches the space effect. The dense part adopts the traditional Chaozhou embroidery in Chaoshan, adding new content to the design. The metal part is made of gold, lifting the sense of modern and quality.

Erised Desire

Remember the Mirror of Erised in Harry Potter? It’s a special mirror which reflects the deepest desires of those who look at it. Octagonal-shaped on ring has a connotation of peaceful and fortunate world. There’re two forces formed by different combinations of natural gemstones. The two-sided reversible ring structure hopes to bring out the importance of multiple views, using jewellery as a media to interpret "Harmony in Diversity”.
